LYNBROOK HIGH SCHOOL is a public school located on the west side of the Santa Clara Valley, an area located at the southern end of San Francisco Bay which was described by Rudyard Kipling at the turn of the 20th century as the "Valley of Heart's Delight". Over the past few years, however, the delight of Kipling's heart has evolved into what is commonly known as "Silicon Valley", a hub of technological innovation and wealth creation whose "delights" now include soaring population growth, urban sprawl, gridlocked freeways, little public transportation, and the highest housing costs and rents in the U.S..

Lynbrook (approx. enrollment 1600) was opened in 1965 and is located just inside the city limits of SAN JOSE, which is home to half the population of the Valley. Lynbrook has been designated a California Distinguished School and is ranked 9th in the state academically according to the students' performance on state tests...It's a pleasure to work with such students and their supportive parents.

My teaching assignment this semester consists of three sections of AP U.S. Government and two sections of U.S. History. I also serve as teacher-coach for our Mock Trial team and, until recently, coached boys soccer and badminton.

Off campus I play drums with two 18 piece swing bands, and play occasional gigs with Full Circle, my 5 piece "all purpose" group...

I have a very close connection with a few other places, namely...

MANCHESTER, U.K.
...my birthplace and home of the Industrial Revolution, the computer, and Manchester United...

MARYBOROUGH, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA
...where I lived for 7 enjoyable years...

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
... my "retreat" ...
