The three "Summer" book reports are a pre-requisite for the course. All three will need to be completed (in class) at the beginning of the school year (click AP Page on the class website for instructions).
PROJECTS AND ASSIGNMENTS:
In the real world you are expected to complete projects on time. On time is defined as the beginning of class. No late work will be accepted unless there are extenuating circumstances. Examples of extenuating circumstances include emergency medical treatment, hospitalization, or a family emergency. Losing an assignment, going on vacation or just not being adquately prepared are examples of illegitimate excuses which will not be accepted (also, no work will be accepted which was due in a previous grading period).
If you have an excused absence tests and assignments will need to be made up within one week of the due date in order to recieve full credit.
GRADING AND ASSESSMENT:
Grading is based on a point system for tests, projects and class participation. Class participation includes contributing to class discussions, small group exercises and team projects.
Tardies and cuts will result in a deduction of points.
All assignments submitted must be neat and organized. Incomplete, sloppy, disorganized, or otherwise "unprofessional" work will be returned ungraded and result in zero points.
An unexcused absence on a test day, or cheating, will result in no credit for the test and no chance to make the test up.
Plagiarism, cheating, and submitting work completed by someone else are all examples of academic dishonesty. These forms of dishonesty hurt both your fellow students and yourself and will result in either an F on the work involved or an F in the course.
GRADE CUT OFF'S: A - 91% ..... B - 80% ... ..C - 70% ..... D - 60%
You are required to complete 5 hours of community service each grading period .(see rubric for details)
Lynbrook has a rodent problem caused by food left over
in classrooms, therefore, no food will be brought into
the room. Water is OK.
